Welcome to Laughing Burro Ranch

During the beginning of the pandemic, as the world shut down, we took our camper and hit the desert. Living in Nevada there are a lot of places to visit with little to no human contact involved. We saw more of our state during the pandemic shut-down than we did the previous 20 years of living here!

We visited a lot of ghost towns, some with full structures, some with just the remains of foundations, some areas just had signs letting you know there was once a town there.

One of the ghost towns we visited was Tunnel Camp, nestled in the 7 Troughs mountains, northwest of the small town of lovelock. Often referred to a 7 Troughs ghost town, the town has multiple, in tact structures, stunning mountain scenery and a variety of wildlife including, donkeys, horses, and antelope.

We camped our first night under a full moon and within sight of the town. It was amazing. Everything about that trip was amazing. The camping, the scenery, hearing the donkeys braying in the night and seeing evidence of a robust mining town in the middle of a Nevada desert.

Since that time, my husband and I both hoped to find land in that area. Somewhere we could build a base camp so we could better explore the mountains.

Fast forward to October 2021. My amazing husband sent me a listing on a "ranch" property site and asked what I thought. It was 49 acres in the 7 troughs mountains, with dirt road frontage. I told him it was perfect and his response.... "Good thing, since it is yours". Thus Laughing Burro Ranch was born!

Since that time we have expanded the ranch to 100 connected acres with another 40 acres just down the street.

Our goal is to offer a place for off the grid adventurers to begin.
