Labor Day - Quick Trip

This trip was for just a single day. We took the tent that fits the back of the truck. It was way more comfortable that I expected. I would do that again. The purpose of this trip... to see the milky way. Last year the milky way lit the sky over the ranch. I was hoping to see it like that again. We did see it, but it wasn't quite as bright. I looked at my notes and last year it was at the end of October. We are heading out again the first week of October on the new moon and hope we have clear skies! If not, then the next new moon we will be out there again. 

We took a new trail on this trip. Went up into the mountains and explored some old mine sites. There are so many trails we have not explored. Each one delivers something new and exciting.

I couldn't get a picture of the milky way. This is from my star app, pointing directly overhead. The sky was beautiful... that new camera is quickly becoming a must have! Sign, hopefully soon.
